When renovating this period Norfolk cottage, the client wanted a kitchen that was open plan an welcoming, allowing family and dinner guests to mingle whilst they got on with cooking!
We built this horseshoe shaped kitchen from Pippy Oak. This striking material has a beautiful grain, adding lovely texture to the project. We finished the wood in Osmo Satin. This german product helps seal wood and protect it from spills and stains, ensuring this handmade oak kitchen looks beautiful for years to come.
The cupboard fronts are finished in a raised and fielded panel style.
A breakfast bar is integrated into the right-hand side, creating a multi-functional eating space or the perfect spot to perch and enjoy coffee and pastries whilst watching the unspoilt views of the Norfolk countryside from the window. The side is finished in a bespoke tongue and groove beaded side, with proportions to match those found in a classic Victorian kitchen.
A replacement oak beam adds character into the newly renovated space, tying the property back to it’s much older roots.
The worksurface is in Angola Black Granite. This hard-wearing material is more resistant to heat and scratches, providing metres of high quality, durable work space.
Finally, a bespoke kickboard adds interest, echoing the look of traditional Victorian kitchen cabinetry but without a gap, keeping dirt and dog hair at bay!

The enormous space afforded by this Norfolk barn conversion can be a blessing and a curse; some kitchens can feel swamped in this space. We developed a plan to maximise the benefits of the enormous windows, creating a light, bright, airy kitchen that is as practical as it is beautiful.
The cabinets echo our Morston Collection, but include an arched top rail. Cabinetry is angled towards the windows, bringing an unusual perspective that makes the most of the floorspace available. This allowed us to include an enormous kitchen island, with plenty of seats for family and friends. This includes an integrated wine rack in oak, and an integrated microwave. These appliances often have a large footprint, so building them in is a great way to release addition counter space.
Worksurfaces are handmade in our Norfolk workshop from planked oak, at a depth of 40mm doe a substantial feel. All cabinets are finished with curved ends, creating a welcoming sweep into the kitchen without and hard edges.
Gunbarrell turnings finish the break between the sink, which is an extra deep butler sink from Häfele. As with all our cabinetry, we use dovetail joints in the drawers to ensure they last a lifetime.
The kitchen is hand-painted in Farrow and Ball Downpipe and Savage Ground.
Oxburgh
This handmade Norfolk classic kitchen range is one of our most popular styles. The classic shaker style is given an update with an additional vertical stile running down the centre of the doors to create a mullion.
Extra-wide drawers provide bags of space for utensils and odds and ends. We’ve included extra-deep drawers here too for storing pots, pans and crockery. This solution means whatever pans or plates you store you can access them quickly and easily, without risking chips whilst moving things around in cupboards.
We use Häfele parts for all our kitchens, ensuring drawer runners are hard-wearing and will work perfectly for years to come. Naturally, these are silent and self-closing, meaning you can close drawers with heavy loads with the minimum of effort.
In this kitchen, the client opted to avoid wall cabinets. This is a great way of making the space feel bigger. Instead, we build a floor-to-ceiling run of cabinets with integrated fridge/freezer and eye-line cookers. This always makes the space feel bigger, but also creates a perfect work triangle between the fridge, cooker and kitchen island. The appliances are completed by an innovative drawer-style Fisher Paykel dishwasher.
The kitchen island boasts a unique feature with an integrated dog crate! The client wanted to ensure their dog had a safe-space in the kitchen without unsightly crates on the floor. We built a secure space with heavy-gauge wire sides and plenty of light and air.
We also included a deep drawer to store mugs. This clever touch means the client can always find the right item without moving things around in cupboards. This is a perfect example of the benefits of a hand-made kitchen. Tell us what you want and we can create a solution!
As with all our kitchens, this has a hand-painted finish for a timeless, durable and classic look. Here the client specified Farrow and Ball Studio Green and Farrow and Ball Pigeon.
The worksurfaces are Silestone, a man-made composite that is durable, heat-resistant and scratch-resistant. A wooden section at the end of the kitchen island forms a self-contained breakfast bar to enjoy meals or a glass of wine!

We built this handmade shaker kitchen for a customer in a Georgian house with a later, small kitchen extension. Being a listed building, the customer wanted to create a kitchen more faithful to the history of the house. We transformed the small kitchen and bathroom, knocking them into a single space and raising the ceiling height to create more vertical space.
We built a wall of floor to ceiling cabinets, containing a microwave, mixer, bean-to-cup coffer maker and even the boiler! The coffee maker site behind a clever pocket door which folds back into the cabinet when being left open. As well as food cupboards, the top row of cabinets holds kitchen equipment and crockery not in regular use. These can be accessed by a handmade oak ladder, which hangs neatly on the sliding brass rail when not in use.
By eliminating wall cabinets, the kitchen feels light and spacious. The cabinets curve gracefully in an L shape, ensuring there are no hard corners.
We built a beautiful canopy to frame the 4-oven Aga. This is finished with hand-turned columns, and ingenious pull-out spice racks to make use of every inch of space.
All cabinets are complimented with brass knobs and handles from Armac Martin. Aga splashback tiles are customers own from Fired Earth. Floor is travertine limestone, and worksurfaces are Italian Arabescato Marble. Cabinets are hand-painted in Farrow and Ball Hague Blue, with Aga canopy in Cornforth White.

This client is an artist with exquisite taste who was undertaking a renovation of her Norfolk holiday cottage. The room was an unusual shape, forming a horseshoe around a supporting wall. Being such an old property, nothing was square or straight, which is where a bespoke kitchen comes into its own!
We were able to design a handmade kitchen that makes use of every inch of space, scribing splashbacks and kickboards into walls that are never straight or true. This gives an impeccable finish and is simply not possible with an “off-the-peg kitchen”.
The shaker cabinets are finished with an OG moulding. Vase turnings give a stylish flair to the cabinetry. We built a trellis radiator cover to hide the modern radiator, which also doubles as extra workspace.
A chimney canopy site over the oil-fired range. The splashback tiles are the cilent’s own from Fired Earth. The cabinets are painted in Farrow and Ball Light Blue, and a natural oak plank worksurface creates a warm, welcoming and practical workspace.
Tucked around the corner we made use of the odd space by creating a pantry nook, complete with integrated fridge/freezer.
A small 2-zone induction hob was even squeezed in next to the range for when it’s switched off in the summer.

This handmade kitchen makes the best possible use of the space in this Norfolk barn conversion. as a busy family home, the customer wanted a kitchen that would be the heart of the home, a space for the family to gather and children to help cook, whilst being a great space to entertain.
We started with the enormous kitchen island. This is teeming with cupboards and drawers to increase the amount of available cabinetry, and include an integrated microwave.
Finished in 40mm oak plan machined in our Norfolk kitchen workshop, this will be a durable space for entertaining, homework or baking for years to come!
An integrated gas hob makes this kitchen island the central station in the kitchen, and easy to access all other points whilst cooking. Simple handmade beech stools provide a place to perch, making the most of the enormous kitchen island.
Floor to ceiling cabinetry house a larder, stuffed with Kilner jars full of spices and preserves. A double oven keeps hot dishes away from small children, and being eye-height protects aching backs!
Shaker cabinetry is timelessly elegant in this kitchen, hand-painted in Farrow and Ball Hague Blue and Cornforth White.
We created pull-out wicker baskets to give easy access to fruit and vegetables, and the armac martin cup handles lend an air of period grandeur.
We left the fourth wall cabinet-free to make the most of the exposed brickwork, allowing the customer to hang a smart TV in the kitchen.
